Hertz wanted to create a real bond with customers, leaving generic messaging behind, and replacing it with a personalized brand experience for the holidays.

We came up with an email campaign that directed customers to a landing page where users were able to create personalized, holiday-themed portraits and share them with family and friends.

GO THE EXTRA MILE

A transaction isn’t always the end goal, in fact, giving customers something for the sake of fun can be just as rewarding. Especially during the holidays. Some brands tend to talk at customers, but their message gets lost in the noise. So we invited users to make their own holiday-themed family portrait by simply uploading a picture.

Once users clicked on the email they were directed to a microsite. There, they could upload a photo and choose the frame that best represented the holiday message they wanted to share.

RESULTS

The campaign was a hit. The ROI of the holiday card was exponentially better when compared to previous years. It not only had a stellar open rate, it also lead to booking throughout the holiday season—all while giving users the added value of a fun image to share with family and friends.
